HealthLink BC operates the 8-1-1 phone line which provides people in B.C. with a trusted source of health advice and information. HealthLink BC offices are located in Burnaby, Langley and Victoria. We offer exciting opportunities for professionals in many fields. In addition to our corporate and support staff, we employ registered nurses, registered dietitians, qualified exercise professionals and health service navigators.

Registered Nurses employed under the BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS), a division of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), are fully integrated into the two lower mainland HealthLink BC contact centers working exclusively for HealthLink BC within the Ministry of Health.


Health service navigator

HealthLink BC’s health service navigators provide callers with health information, help people find health services across B.C. and connect people with other HealthLink BC health professionals.

The Navigation Services team is a dynamic group of health service navigators, shift leaders, operations leads, managers and support staff. The team works in a 24/7/365 contact center environment to facilitate health information and referrals to the public and health professionals throughout the B.C. Duties include responding to telephone calls from the public, providing information and referrals and identifying available health service options in accordance with established criteria and protocols.

Our ideal health service navigator will possess a typing speed of at least 40 wpm, an excellent understanding and comprehension of the English language, as well as exceptional written and oral communication skills. We would welcome candidates who can multi-task, are able to work in a fast-paced environment, and those who are able to think independently while working as part of a dynamic team.

Registered nurse

HealthLink BC's Nursing Services team provides 24-hour, confidential health information and advice. Anywhere in the province, residents can call 8-1-1 to speak to a registered nurse. 

Join the dynamic and caring team of registered nurses at HealthLink BC and help people get the health information, advice and care they need. HealthLink BC offers work opportunities in Tele-Nursing for full-time, part-time and casual positions. 

Registered nurses who are interested in a career with HealthLink BC require a Nursing diploma and current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

HealthLink BC Dietitian Services provides nutrition information and consultation to support self-care. Anywhere in the province, residents can call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 to speak to a registered dietitian.

We embrace practice-based evidence in nutrition principles and offer a unique work environment where technology and innovation are used to provide readily accessible quality nutrition information to the public and health service providers throughout B.C.

Registered dietitians who are interested in a career with HealthLink BC require current registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
