It is generally understood that regular physical activity is good for us, yet about half of people who start a physical activity routine stop within a few months. Those who maintain their routine for more than a few months can experience slips (such as missing a few sessions) or setbacks (such as reverting to being inactive). There are many reasons why people stop or break their physical activity routine, some similar to the barriers to getting active (for example, lack of time) and some different (for example, unexpected life circumstances).
