We gratefully acknowledge that the District of Fort St. James is on the unceded traditional territory of the Nak’azdli Whut’en where we live, work and play.
Overview
A Primary Care Network (PCN) is a community-based network of health care professionals and clinics who plan and deliver the health care needs of a community.
The Northern Interior Rural PCN is a collaborative partnership between Northern Health, First Nations Health Authority, Carrier Sekani Family Services, Northern Interior Rural Division of Family Practice and the Ministry of Health. Together we work with local clinics to help connect people living in or near Fort St. James, Nak'azdli Whut'en, Tl'az'ten Nation, Yekooche First Nation, Binche Whut'en, or Takla First Nation to a primary care provider (either a family doctor or nurse practitioner).

What’s happening in your community

People in Fort St. James and area will have enhanced access to health care in state-of-the-art surroundings with the opening of their new hospital. The new facility is three times the size of the previous hospital and has 27 beds, with 18 long-term care and nine acute-care beds.

Call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 to speak with a health service navigator, registered nurse, registered dietitian, qualified exercise professional or pharmacist. You can contact HealthLink BC 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The new Fort St. James Hospital and Health Centre is more than just a building; it's a symbol of community, culture and working together. One new feature is the use of signs in Dakelh, the language of the Nak’azdli Whut’en territory.
